1. A citizen of a country should be clear what the government is trying to do.
2. The citizen cannot be having any confusions or distrust in the actions of government.
3. I take myself as an Indian citizen and lay out my apprehensions.
4. Indian government is based on federalism- there is a central government and a state government.
5. Indian National Congress has been the voice of the country for half a century.
6. I grew up accepting liberal leftist view as the progress of civilisation. My view is based on what I saw in newspapers, tv which I perceived as aligning with education. 6a. There is a problem with the tv content in my regional language(tamil) which criticised alcoholism, suicide but at the same moment encouraged if it is done for love failure, and honour act. It promoted male chauvinism through acts of slapping and rapping a woman more often. 6b. There are censor boards who gave certificates for these movies but criticised or censored movies made by acclaimed movie makers on Gandhi( Hey Raam), Mira Nair( Fire), same sex relationship because it is against their leadership and ideals. It could be to protect me, as I was a child? I don’t know about that. And the same sort of protests happen if a movie depicts right-wing leaders wrongly(like Mani Ratnam’s Bombay). Having a neutral perspective on the homeland is not difficult. It all boils down to that as from a conservative viewpoint one might shift to neutral, based on news for few days and worry there is no resolution arrived. This is like head and shoulders pattern in stock trading. The price will grow and then drop, then grow again. Head and shoulders happen to be the brand name of dandruff shampoo, just like ford car having endeavour(which is a virtue) name for one of its models. 6c. In one of the movies, an American ar a town return(don’t remember exactly- Devar magan movie name) tells of his plan to startup a restaurant chain(like Mc’Donald) to his dad, who happens to be a village head. If that idea is brought, the cost of starting a restaurant franchise belonging to a mnc is substantial. It looks attractive on paper but returns take years. The pain it takes to start something big and the Human Resources facilitating the process to work in the retail outlets whether facilities like employee allowance, in some shops people have to stand for hours with no seating facility and this is happening in airports. Yet there is no one in the government or humanitarian law or ministry looking into the fact that all the personnel are treated properly. It looks as if there is gross shortage in government. Sudden tests and raids on food shops are shown as proofs of quality. What about the quality on other days on other shops? People who are poor rely on selling in roadside shops. There might be some interventions by the government to improve quality. And in many Tamil movies poor people are shown as loving, caring and trying to look after loved ones. Then why quality protocols? In Dunki, a world without borders is advertised but SRK cannot live without his bodyguards, go for without borders. People who act as if under alcohol usage don’t know a male construction worker might be using alcohol whereas women may not. And someone in the streets might be begging 10 rs from onlookers in order to get additional alcohol in order to alleviate his pain and some other beggar might because of poverty. Preaching through stories or movies needs to be stopped. Or there need not be stories. Let there be documentaries boring people. To put it harshly Panem et circuses need not be there. Let there be dignity for all, after which entertainment can come through stunts and songs. Movies come with many contradictions. In real life there are no twists and turns nor there needs to be villains. Let everyone be educated with enough information to sustain in their lives within their neighbourhood. This some state or central government can declare. I hesitate to say this, but for this reason there need not be a global scale, until one clear, clean environment with a proper vision or opportunity comes to each individual. They need not worry about global news. And let information and learning flow only through proper books. 7. In education there looks like there are plenty of education departments in US and plenty of engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. Some fields have specialists well trained to the details. But when a person trained in logic confidently rebukes them or asserts something wrong with fine granular details, sometimes this person who is arguing wins. It could be the person who is in the screen or myself. Then this raises the question of fast track education- knowing Plato only by name without knowing the inherent philosophy. Is it worth? In varumaiyin niram sivappu, the hero is a philosopher who struggles to make a living in Delhi, the capital of India, just like people in Mumbai slums in Salaam Bombay or Slumdog Millionaire. Why am I studying geometry? Because some Greek philosopher has struggled to prove things. I cannot go and browse everything in internet. It brings about boring results. AI looks attractive, as an user can ask questions and get answers (unlike clicking on links and asking communities, which takes time and information might be centralised and compartmentalised to various websites with various author names- in reality there might not be those many authors. The centralisation might value information and impart global peace as a solution for sustenance)but whether it can withstand all the criticism and contempts of other parties and can a student who is busied with so much knowledge find time? What will happen if someone does category mistake, there is a karma, of not doing anything productively and getting lost in a purposeless iterative life cycle. If someone likes this, they can very well execute free will, take wrong examples and then ask for miracles, get rewarded but unable to make use of the rewards and so on.
8. How much food is produced and how much food is wasted? How much resources is consumed and how much is wasted? Are we wasting water by producing more in agriculture ? Are we growing more coconut trees that drain land water? Are we using more bulbs, metro trains with lesser people, because developed countries are using? Do we know the answers? Is there someone watching all this? 9. Take for example, movies are fetching millions of rupees and taking millions of rupees to make. Why someone who has made millions act again ? To become trillionaire? Am I contradicting? It looks difficult to believe on paper. Best example, Dhurandhar (2025) and various Hollywood movies. Aren’t there contradictions? What good is my education? I believe whatever I read? I can’t discern which one is real and which information is not. But surrounding me there is information after information. It is difficult to live life peacefully. I can’t fight like an action hero getting out of retirement. I am not that big a person.
10. What I can peacefully assert is, there is some sort of force that is beyond explanation is there with us humans. It is watching and I had been simply a puppet having wishes and moving in different spaces. It is better to live in one place praying rather than roam around the world aimlessly and feeling helpless. It might free the mind of anxieties and navigate. In college cultural programs, people danced as per pre-meditated steps to perfection and I considered myself better in other aspects, which I am not sure of. But am I right in my argument? It looks like petitio principii(begging the question fallacy). I concluded that I can use computers. Everyone can learn to use it.
11. I had the opportunity to read some pages of Mahatma Gandhi book, ‘My experiments with truth’. Gandhiji openly stated that after his childhood mistake’s confession like smoking, he stopped the habit. I tried that, the results were amazing. I had control over my life. People moved automatically with some assumptions about me and I was thinking something else. Read in a Tamil magazine that after reading Gandhiji’s biography, a friend of a known celebrity changed completely. I had some perceived bad habit and I decided to confess to my parents. The problem is after making a promise if one happens to change, there are side effects. I happened to doubt myself. I read 7 habits for teens by Sean Covey with attractive visuals before found some ways to alter perceptions and then read pragmatic You can win, by Shiv Khera, where habit forming is mentioned as taking some time. (21 days or so) . The question to me was, why should I do and what changes do I need to see in life? What were the wrong things in me? Man could attain endless perfection. Winners vs losers ok, but where do I need to take myself. I like sports. Then there is a thing before me. I name it as chess and cricket. I can concentrate on something like playing a club tournament, then next step and so on. There were fewer examples and it was generic. Asking myself and being tough with myself amid all the distractions in tv is difficult for me.
12. Speaking of songs by artists- for example an artist might have sung about alcohol highly in one movie highly and if I take it as an example, I might miss the point, wherein he might be very well versed in classical and hindustani and published independent albums. What am I to the artists? And what are artists to me? Are we connected in inexplicable ways?
13. Here comes another topic- sexuality identification. This is an important topic. Please don’t believe me. It could be a very useless topic. The question of whether are you a cis-male, might throw most people off. I am a proper male or female will be the answer by most people who are unfamiliar. It is not to be blamed. If I am explained, the term cis is introduced so that, trans-people are not seen as abnormal people, then I will be relieved. Also, there is a Dostana movie and some movies where In being gay was made fun. And then there is Aligarh movie where in privacy invasion and discrimination is shown. There is a head and shoulders pattern . Why not tell in news, from this day everything is normal. You have attained age and can choose on your free will. Be safe.
14. Alcohol drinking and smoking is injurious to health. I see this disclaimer. How many more disclaimers should be put in movies? There are creative liberties. In Tamil, for helmet wearing while riding a bike there is a disclaimer. For all witchcraft and satan related movies, there should be a disclaimer god is there, be safe, don’t believe us.
15. What can state government do? What can central government do? Is the treasury being emptied through metro construction, highways construction, road reworks? Are all people getting benefits? Have all the people who had complained in tv news channels had their queries resolved? Do police take complaints from ordinary citizens? What sort of complaints do they accept? IPC is known by Indian police and lawyers. If they are changed by the government, what will happen? There were many sweeping changes introduced by a government, which have not passed the floor test or repeated because of opposition from public. Is it not following head and shoulders pattern? There is a welfare scheme announced by one government for one purpose and then another government repeals it. There is building build for one purpose and then another government destroys it. There is the language fight. I am lost amid the chaos and news in recent times and hope somewhere it gets better, streamlined or reduced or redesigned to a fewer dimensions for people with less changes.
16. For example how complaints against doctors handled? What is the time frame within which such complaints need to be submitted? What about the cost involved for criminal cases for lawyers? Consumer goods complaints? Can anyone write to the president of India? Are the mails properly checked for complaints? I got a reply from Dr.A.P.J. Kalam office with wrong information. And I happen to see a reply from BSNL office, state government long back. Now, I am not sure whether it is the case as I see so much construction work and in some places wires burnt. I can’t stop the carnage like a hero. I happened to politely ask a person sticking a poster not to do and repairing wires to not do politely, but still it is there. I have stopped appealing for aesthetics of the city, which is fundamental in any governance ( the good should become better) but am looking away. There were plenty of complaints before in online forums and somewhat personnel responded but now with bots , it looks like i-robot scenario where robots make human to sit in place. 17. Speaking of confusion, how can a government rule, if people differ by religion ? ; through secularism? Let all good prayers by people be answered. That seems to be the final destination.
