Indian flash who drives home

What is special about Minnal Murali(2021-Indian movie), who is struck by a lightning? He survives the lightning and because of some scientific reasoning, gets super powers. It is like Greek god Zeus transferred some of his powers to two people in the movie in Indian subcontinent- Kerala. Is the movie worth watching? That depends on whether one likes Indian spices for a Western cuisine. Yes, super hero is a western concept and some Indian flavour of revenge is applied to it. In the movie, the other person in the same town(would be villain) who is stuck by the lightning also gets super powers but uses it for his personal love- to get his lady love, by stealing from a bank, killing his lady love’s brother who objects to his marriage and also would be fiancee, thereby manipulating her by being helpful. And finally when she reciprocates, without having any option or knowing any of his activities, the village people come to know about his super powers and some of his actions and decide to kill him. They come to his house and burn in an act of rage, which kills his lady love thereby making him angry making him to become like Dark Knight’s Joker type of character, by holding people hostage. All this happens in a small town in Kerala, not in Gotham. The hero comes to people’s rescue. Minnal Murali(the protagonist) is more like the protagonist in Tamil movie Hero(2019) and Myskin’s Mugamoodi(2012), where reality meets super power or heroism by wearing a mask. Here the hero tries to know his powers and limitations, designs his own costume. A few questions that come to mind, while watching these movies is, whether super powers are real and what should one do, if one gets super powers. How to make best use of it? Is it evil disguised as a hero, a unnecessary burden in a man’s heads who is not accustomed to handling these? Should children mimic liking a superhero, keeping aside rational thinking, using words like rational for only rational numbers, not knowing the meaning of virtues and vices, because some of the friends in school like and boasts of liking the concepts. I could say like a world wrestling federation’s fighter’s activities and boast of being strong or becoming someone like them, but ultimately I might be weak and the social hierarchy might not like. The same argument could go in for superheroes. Even in Mugaoodi(2012), the character Sathyamoorthy who teaches students innovative concepts talks of practical difficulties, when patents or innovative designs are been threatened by wealthy and corrupt institutions. With the above example and premise that, “wealth corrupts people”, some people might argue for distributing wealth. But it is a fallacious argument, with fallacy of hasty generalisation and genetic fallacy, it is not the only factors; factors such as social circumstances, free will, unanswered questions which could pose as failures, all could play a role in wealth being the corruptor of minds. Also, it is a basic requisite that minds should be properly trained for being innovative. It is not radical ideas such as taking electricity from salt water or using it as fuel that matter- normal ideas and unanswered questions such as what is the volume of Indian tumbler that is used in home for drinking water or coffee? What shape is it? Is it conical, cylindrical? I wasn’t sure about it. Then I searched and asked in internet, got the answer as frustum shape, the volume is found out by V = (1/3)πh(R² + r² + Rr), where V is volume, h is the perpendicular height, R is the radius of the larger base, and r is the radius of the smaller base. Is it necessary knowledge? Common wisdom might avoid knowing such details, as not everyone likes to be a know-all encyclopaedic person, failing to live life. But still, science surrounds us in everyday life. No need to be rocket scientist, but a person who has learned physics, geometry in school could and should know to apply his brains, else he might feel lost in life at one point or another, without knowing the reasons, striving to find meaning in life, by reading motivational books or watching superhero comic books or movies, trying to become one, losing time and brain in the process. Thanks for reading!
